This weekend, I bought my first ever work of art at the Alexandra Palace Antiques and Collectors fair. I saw it from afar and just fell in love with it. I was delighted to see that it was very, very cheap. So I took it home. Very 20's don't you think?
Technically, this is not my first original painting: I commissioned the painting that will appear on the cover of my third novel, The Right Place. I haven't framed it yet.
I also got my hands on a great little book: Warrior Bard, The Life of William Morris. This is for my own collection, not for the Arcane Publishing stock!
The authors of the book are artists Edward and Stephani Godwin, who lived in Morris's famous house Kelmscott Manor at the time of writing. They were friends with Morris's daughter May. The book is illustrated with black and white illustrations by the authors.
Even though the dust jacket is in a sorry state and very fragile, the book itself is in great condition. This is the first edition, published in 1947.
I think therefore I write.
