Next Sunday, I will at last go to "Terror and Wonder: The Gothic Imagination" at the British Library.
I wish I were able to attend every single one of the fantastic events organised around the exhibition, but unfortunately, it won't happen. I will get to "On Gothic Literature: Sarah Waters, DBC Pierre and Kim Newman", though. It's better than nothing!
Another listed event is "The Josephine Hart Poetry Hour: Goblin Market and other poems".
It reminded me that a few years ago, I got my hands on an amazing edition of Christina Rossetti's Goblin Market and other poems published by Blackie and Son Ltd (after a bit of research, I think this edition is from 1923) and richly illustrated by Florence Harrison in a very Pre-Raphaelite style.
The listings on Abe Books made me think this was a rather good investment!
You don't get that with an e-book, do you?
One day, when Arcane Publishing is fully developed and better funded, I will publish books with gorgeous illustrations in them. I'd love to work with more artists, I already have a few names in mind! This is the quality we are aiming for with the imprint...
I think therefore I write.
