1/1/2011 1.1.11So here is another year showing its grey, pasty face - just look out of your window...
I am not one to mark the passing of time and I dislike birthdays, Christmas and the New Year for their repetitive occurence, their inevitability. I loathe routine and all its trimmings. The only nice thing about this time of year is that my favourite boy is on holidays and we can spend whole days together. This is the best thing. We don't do family, stress, whatever: we only do what we want to do. No New Year resolutions either for me, apart from trying not to get angry at the world and people's stupidity so often. It might make me a very boring person, but I eat well, I exercise every day, I stopped smoking and drinking ages ago... So I don't have to try and stop. 2010 has been good really: it has been my first year as a freelancer and working from home (not too much) has been bliss. I have finally taken the time to write my first novel, I have seen great plays and exhibitions and been to fab gigs. 2011 looks like it is going to be yet another strange year, and I have no idea what it has in store for me... Positive stuff, I hope. Working freelance is an adventure, writing is another adventure. I feel incredibly lucky to have been able to do both in 2010, and I will do my best to make sure that I will carry on living this type of life, because it is the one I have always wanted. My favourite boy also has started a new venture in 2010, and we will be working hard to ensure the success of his very own little adventure. Now is the time to take both our projects to a new, higher level... We live in tough times, and we will face unrest. Economically, culturally, we seem to be going backward. Creativity and art have always flourished in adversity. I am hoping for a more creative, artistic 2011 when a lot of people will finally shake off their apathy and CREATE. Comments are closed.
